DPHS Baseball Senior Spotlight

Class of 2025

We're so proud of our seniors and know they're going to do amazing things in their final year with our program.

Dylan Naranjo

Position: PO 

Pregame Ritual: Listening to heavy metal

Favorite Walkup Song: Blackened by Metallica

Favorite Food: Grilled picaña

Favorite Quote: “It won't take long, but only your genuine interest and concern, plus follow-up on your promises, will earn you respect” — Robin Olds

Favorite High School Memory so far?: The time when we were done testing for the year 

Favorite DP Baseball Memory so far?: My favorite baseball memory was when a game was canceled and we got to play basketball in the gym 

Fun Fact: The word alpha was used to describe chickens and not wolves

Advice to underclassmen: Don't wait until it is too late. Don't procrastinate. 

Plans for next year: Going to college

Who inspires you? Why?: My dad. He worked hard to get me where I am today.

If you could have any superpower what would it be? Why?: Luck manipulation. I’d just make myself the luckiest person alive.

Jose Diaz

Position: 1B

Pregame Ritual: I like to listen to old reggaeton and rap to get hype for the game 

Favorite Walkup Song: “Ahora es” 

Favorite Food: Pork chops and  yellow rice with beans 

Favorite Quote: “You’re killing me, Smalls!” — Sandlot 

Favorite High School Memory so far?:  Playing varsity baseball under the lights in front of people 

Favorite DP Baseball Memory so far?: Playing and competing against Olympia Titans

Fun Fact: I am good at bowling and fishing 

Advice to underclassmen: Do the work and have open ears when given advice 

Plans for next year: I plan to attend Saint Peter University to fulfill my baseball journey by playing college baseball or becoming a firefighter.

Who inspires you? Why?: My dad even though he passed when I was young, his words still stick with me 

If you could have any superpower what would it be? Why?: I’d love to have ultimate strength and crush baseballs 1000 feet.

John-Paul "J-P" Rando

Position: Right Field

Pregame Ritual: Take a nap 

Favorite Walkup Song: “I’m On One” by Drake and Future

Favorite Food: Pizza 

Favorite Quote: "Is it better to be loved or feared?" — Bronx Tale

Favorite High School Memory so far?: Hanging out with all my friends in school 

Favorite DP Baseball Memory so far?: My team winning the Carolina World Series 

Fun Fact: I’m the youngest sibling in my family 

Advice to underclassmen: Have a short-term memory when playing baseball, and also worry less live more. 

Plans for next year: Go to college and major in criminal justice 

Who inspires you? Why?: God is my inspiration. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” — Philippians 4:13 

If you could have any superpower what would it be? Why?: Flying, because you could just fly anytime you wanted to and see the world 

Marshall Guin

Position: PO

Pregame Ritual: Take a nap

Favorite Walkup Song: “Syrup Sippin” by Destroy Lonely

Favorite Food: Chick-fil-A

Favorite Quote: “Everybody want to know, what I would do if I didn't win… I guess we’ll never know.” — Ye

Favorite High School Memory so far?: Hanging out with the team after playing Apopka in the TFA Spring Break Tournament

Favorite DP Baseball Memory so far?: Coming back from being 11-2 at West Orange during Freshman year

Fun Fact: I am a pilot

Advice to underclassmen: Work hard at practice because you only get out what you put in

Plans for next year: I’m going to take a gap year and take more flight training 

Who inspires you? Why?: Travis Scott because of his dedication to his work, his energy, and the message he tries to display through music.

If you could have any superpower what would it be? Why?: The ability to fly so I could go anywhere quickly and not have to drive.
